April Sours Release

We’re very excited to announce the release of two very exciting beers from our barrel stack program:

– Edgar Motta y la Madera: dark sour fermented and aged for 14 months in a third use bourbon barrel. The latest in our barrel stack series, this dark sour with vanilla beans and pink bourbon coffee from our friends at Sweet Bloom Roasters is incredibly complex with a huge coffee aromatics. With the first sip, the coffee character comes forward quickly followed by an assertively sour mid-palate impression that trails off and finishes with subtle vanilla creaminess.

– Brett Barrel Aged Sappy Roots: International Mazer Cup silver medal award winning farmhouse style sour, aged in a neutral wine barrel with a culture of two strains of brettanomyces. This beer begins with orange blossom citrus and honey aromatics with a touch of funk. A prominent honey character abounds in the foreground that blends into a medium-high assertive tartness throughout. This beer drinks with a predominately dry and citrusy finish.
